Opportunity:

South Mountain YMCA Camps - Outdoor Beautification Projects

Description

We need your help! We hope you'll join us for a day of giving back to camp by helping with projects such as painting, weeding, trail clearing, wood splitting, general clean-up, and other tasks that may arise throughout the day.

Volunteer job sign-ups will be available when you arrive at camp on September 16. Projects are assigned on a first-come, first-served basis, so be sure to arrive on time to have the best selection.

We will provide all necessary supplies for the projects. However, if you prefer to use your own work or gardening gloves, please feel free to bring them.

Meals

The United Way Day of Caring Kickoff Breakfast is a wonderful way to start the day, and we encourage you to attend if your schedule allows. We also understand that camp is a bit out of the way, and many volunteers choose to come directly to camp instead.

For those arriving directly at camp, we will have a continental breakfast available beginning at 8:00 AM. Please RSVP if you plan to join us for breakfast so we can ensure we have enough food for everyone.

Snacks and Water will be provided.

Lunch will be provided for all volunteers.

We have many projects to complete, and we truly appreciate your willingness to help. Your support makes a tremendous difference, and we couldn't do what we do without dedicated volunteers like you.

Please plan to arrive as close to 9:00 AM as possible so we can begin with a brief welcome, safety information, and project assignments.

What to Bring

  • Comfortable clothing that you don't mind getting dirty

  • Closed-toe shoes or work boots

  • Dress appropriately for the weather

  • A refillable water bottle

  • Sunscreen

  • Bug spray

  • Optional: Your own work or gardening gloves

Important Information

All volunteers will be required to sign a South Mountain YMCA Camps Hold Harmless Agreement.

Because campers will be on site, all volunteers ages 18 and older must bring a valid driver's license or State ID so we can complete the required background check before participation.

Thank you for volunteering your time and talents. We look forward to seeing you at camp and working together to make a lasting impact!
