The South Mountain YMCA Camps have historically provided summer camp programs (day and residential), for children ages 6 through 17. Focusing on developing communication, trust and problem-solving skills while promoting independence and positive self-esteem, our campers participate in activities ranging from archery and target spots to nature programs and guitar lessons. For more than 65 years, Camp Conrad Weiser and Bynden Wood have been a summer destination for local youth and young people from around the world. Additionally we operate the Duberstein Equestrian Center, offering riding lessons and camps, and the Outdoor Center which provides hundred of programs each year for local schools, community groups, businesses and families.

Mission Statement: We welcome you to the mountain and invite you to share in the "Fire of Friendship," determined in our belief that every person share the potential to grow in wisdom, to discover their unique and independent voice, to nurture others and to engage their communities. The fun and challenging programs we offer foster communication, trust, problem-solving and deeper spiritual connections, while preparing young people to lead and be led. The South Mountain YMCA Camps are more than a series of camping and retreat programs on the mountaintop, they are a way of life - a philosophy - that are exciting to explore and easy to embrace. keep the fires burning! The mission of South Mountain YMCA is to provide a camping experience and educational programs that build personal leadership, character and life skills while developing honesty, caring, respect and responsibility in kids, families and communities.

South Mountain YMCA Camps

From 09/10/2025 to 09/10/2025

We need your help to make Camp shine! Join us for a day of cleanup, painting, weeding trail clearing, wood splitting and a few other projects that will help get Camp in great shape.

Please arrive by 9:00am so we can kick off the day together

Optional Continental Breakfasts: Served at 8:00 AM for early arrivals _ Please RSVP if you'd like breakfast here at camp.

Lunch will be provided for all volunteers.

What to Expect:

Job Sign-Ups: Available on-site (must be here to sign up for job)

What to Wear: Dress for the weather and wear clothes you don't mind getting dirty.

What to Bring: A State ID card (driver's license) for our Background check. Water bottle, bug spray, sunscreen. 

Important Notes

All volunteers must sign a South Mountain YMCA Camps Hold Harmless Agreement

Adults (18+) must bring a valid Driver's license for a background check, as we will have campers on site.
