Wernersville State Hospital is a nonprofit facility operated by the Pennsylvania Department of Public Welfare and accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations. The hospital provides extended inpatient psychiatric treatment with an emphasis on recovery/rehabilitation for consumers residing in Berks, Lebanon,York-Adams and Lancaster Counties in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

Mission Statement: Wernersville State Hospital in collaboration with county/community mental health and substance abuse service systems, provides a caring recovery-focused environment that fosters symptom reduction and promotes wellness, support and hope.

Group Leaders for Bingo

Volunteers interested in visiting our hospital are needed to run a monthly or bi-monthly bingo to our consumers. This will provide a chance for the consumer to socialize with their peers and community members. Groups would be welcome in the evenings.

Provide birthday cards mailed to the hospital for distribution. This keeps a strong connection between the consumer and the community. Volunteers will get a number of birthdays from the Volunteer Coordinator and send the cards signed From A Friend.
