Mission Statement: The Parks Department is dedicated to planning, developing and maintaining a system of parks that provide recreation and leisure, environmental education and awareness, and cultural and historic education. The open spaces, recreational areas, and the historical sites within the parks will be clean, safe, attractive and will support a wide range of citizen participation and involvement.

Park Trail Ambassadors are the 'boots on the ground' on our trails and in our park spaces. Ambassadors walks trails, answer questions about points of interest, give directions, keep our trails clean, and are a physical presence on the trail.  They can report safety issues to park rangers and staff, and inform visitors on park hours, ordinances, and rules.

The Festivals/Special Events volunteer may assist with a variety of activities at festivals and park events. Possible opportunities include selling tickets and handing out park information, demonstrating historic home crafts, organizing family games, helping with children's crafts, or parking cars. Volunteers are also needed to help in the planning aspect of these events as well.
