Support local disaster responses in your community by volunteering as a Red Cross disaster responder. Our responders provide comfort items and financial assistance for individuals and families who've experienced an emergency like a flood or home fire.
Key Responsibilities:
Disaster Action Teams provide 24-hour emergency response to local disasters, particularly house fires, ensuring that those affected have access to resources for basic necessities such as food, shelter and clothing.
This position is responsible for the tasks involved in the Disaster Action Team program including:
*Welcome new volunteers on to the team and interact with current volunteers. *Help on-board new Disaster Cycle Services Volunteers, including in-person introduction meetings, advise about training, assist at new volunteer orientations, etc. *Follow-up with new and current volunteers, keeping them motivated and accountable. *Assign fellow volunteers to sub-committees and special projects. *CAN WORK FROM HOME OR REMOTE LOCATION OF YOUR CHOOSING
*Interview clients (with supervision) affected by emergencies or disasters to assess their immediate needs; provide direct assistance using guidelines *Follow up with clients after disasters to provide additional referrals and information about partner organizations and programs available to help meet their needs *Document assistance, attend training & regularly scheduled meetings, and accept tasks & direction from Disaster Cycle Services Department *CAN WORK FROM HOME OR REMOTE LOCATION OF YOUR CHOOSING!
Disaster Health Services Responders provide disaster health care by meeting the disaster related health needs of clients and providing support to other volunteers.

Support the American Red Cross as a logistics volunteer. The purpose of this position is to provide leadership to Disaster Cycle Services workers in performing logistics leadership during preparedness, response, and recovery within a region.
Able to lift up to 50 lbs
Drive 1.5 hours round trip once a month
Possess a valid Driver's license
