Berks Encore - Volunteers are needed to do the grocery shopping and deliver the groceries to the homes of individuals age 50 or over who have difficulty getting to a grocery store or doing their own grocery shopping. Hope Rescue Mission - Although they are not allowing volunteers in the building at this time, they are allowing meals made outside of the facility to be donated if people are interested. They are feeding between 160-180 men breakfast, lunch and dinner. Please contact Jayme Eenigenburg at firstname.lastname@example.org
New Journey Community Outreach - Two volunteers are needed daily to make sandwiches and pack lunch bags. Also 2 volunteers are needed to fill the brown paper bags with canned and boxed food items for Pantry Day. No exposure to the public. United Way of Berks County continues to work closely with community agencies by helping to recruit volunteers. However, some agencies are struggling with mandated closures and their volunteer opportunities may be on hold. If you are able to volunteer, please contact the agency to confirm they are open and are accepting volunteers. Some opportunities such as packing lunches and Meals on Wheels are active and need volunteers.

Networking session topics include Orientation to the UWBC Volunteer Center and Volunteer Solutions, Volunteer Recruitment, Volunteer Retention, Volunteer Recognition, Targeting Special Volunteer Groups, Volunteer Program Development/Implementation Assistance, and Social Media
The sessions will also provide networking opportunities with other organizations who are involved with volunteerism efforts. Feel free to bring ideas, suggestions and any other information that may be relevant to the specific topic of the networking session.
