SUMMARY:Road to Recovery Drivers
DESCRIPTION:Opportunity: Road to Recovery Drivers\nAgency: American Cancer
Society: Berks County Unit\n\nThe American Cancer Society Road To Recovery
program provides free rides to treatment for cancer patients. Transportatio
n barriers are the #1 reason for missed cancer appointments. For people wit
h cancer who have no way of getting to and from treatment, our Road To Reco
very® program is there to help. Driving patients to lifesaving treatment is
one of the most meaningful volunteer experiences you can have with the Ame
rican Cancer Society. We need volunteers so we can help more cancer patient
 s. Unfortunately, we can?t provide rides to everyone who asks us to help th
em. You can change that.  Being a volunteer driver means you volunteer your
time to drive people with cancer to treatment using your personal car.  \n
\nAs a trained volunteer driver, you?ll join cancer patients on a crucial p
art of their journey to recovery, transporting them to and from their appoi
ntments in Berks County and ensuring their access to care isn?t prevented o
r delayed because of lack of transportation.  A few hours of your day could
make a lifesaving difference!\n\nTo volunteer or learn more about the Road
To Recovery program, give us a call at 800-227-2345 or visit cancer.org/dr
ive.\n\nOpportunity Type: Individual\nLength of Type: \nMinimum age require
