Looking for artists, musicians, fitness instructors, yoga instructors, mindfulness/meditation instructors, etc. to share their talents and insights with individuals living with mental illness or dual diagnoses. As many of our residents do not have the means available to go to live shows and classes, we are hopeful to bring the fun to them! We have plenty of space available both indoors and outdoors for artist set-up. Artists of all ages welcome. We ask that anyone under the age of 18 be accompanied by an adult.

Habitat for Humanity of Berks County ReStore Volunteering allows you to have fun and make a difference while giving you the flexibility to choose your own schedule. You can work as little as three hours a month or as much as several times a week. Volunteer by yourself or come with a group of friends and coworkers. All volunteers must be at least 16 years old. The ReStore is open Wednesday through Saturday, 9 am to 6 pm and Sunday noon to 6pm. The ReStore Colossus volunteer will help unload donations from the truck as well as from customers dropping them off and picking them up.

A zone specialist has (or acquires) knowledge about a specific area of the store...building supplies, furniture, lighting-who will make the area their own and help customers with any inquiries about that area.

Volunteer tasks include: Prepare mailings, inventory and label brochures, copy NAMI course manuals, copy NAMI program flyers, copy resource information for community events, sort and fold NAMI t-shirts and additional tasks may be added as needed. Bilingual helpful.

Answer crisis hotline calls and text line communications from survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault, assist clients of our Safe House with signing in or out of Safe House, help clients with basic needs, etc.

Volunteers open and sort and repack boxes of donations. If able, load and unload furnture. Hours are anytime 8 AM- 12 Noon Tu, Wed, Th, and Fr.

Provide instruction to interested consumers in the hospital setting or fashion items for the consumer's use in the comfort of your own home. Crocheted or knitted items and fabric for wheelchair as well are suggestions.
